Output is currenly at about 20 watts in a 10mph wind. This equates to about 160 watts in a 20mph wind and over 1200watts in a 40mph wind. Since this machine is stable up to 65mph winds, there is potential for incredible power output. Please do not confuse this machine with a horizontal wind turbine rating. Horizontal turbines are different in many ways and will be rated for a narrow wind range, usually 10 to 30mph winds only. This particular vertical machine has a very wide productivity range and makes a reasonable amount of energy in light winds that a horizontal would typically not use. This machine also continues to make electricity in higher winds that a horizontal machine must furl away from.
